Two Years!!

Two years ago I woke up in recovery, basking in the sun, loving the sounds of the medevac helicopters coming in and taking off (I"m weird I know, but it comes from my EMS background), with a tube in my neck and my cancer ridden thyroid gone. It's been an interesting two years, with lots of ups and downs, pain and tears, both good and bad. I've done goofy things just because I could and I've done long desired thing just because I could.

In the world of cancer my path has been easy compared to others, I still have most of my hair, those somedays I don't feel like it and my radiation didn't leave burns but gave rise to RadioactiveGirl. In a way, it's been a bed of roses, awesome and sweet at times but can't forget about the poking thorns and scratchy leaves.

Here's to the next year being even better! Much love to my amazing husband who at times has fretted over me like no other and my awesome family and friends who have been by my side (even though you were required to stay 10 ft away at all times LOL) and supported me through all of it. I love you guys so much!
